Haiti - FLASH : The General Policy Statement is rejected

Sunday, the Prime Minister named Fritz-Alphonse Jean proceeded with the presentation of its general policy statement https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16929-haiti-flash-general-policy-of-pm-fritz-jean-alphonse.html was followed by a debate of several hours, in which the deputies expressed their views on the statement, and shared their ideas... addressed questions to the Prime Minister.

Then was read section 158 of the 1987 amended Constitution "Prime Minister in agreement with the President chooses the members of his Cabinet of Ministers and appears before Parliament to obtain a vote of confidence on his General Policy statement. Voting is by public ballot and with at an absolute majority of each of the two (2) Houses. In the case of a vote of no confidence by one of the two (2) Houses, the procedure is repeated."

The body is of 119 deputies, the PM needs 60 votes for his general policy statement to be accepted.

And finally to 6:20 p.m. the vote took place, the General Policy statement of PM got in the Lower House, 38 for, 36 against, 1 abstention.

"Mr. Prime Minister 38 deputies voted in favor to your general policy statement, as the majority required in terms of section 158 of the 1987 amended Constitution is at least 60 votes, which constitutes the absolute majority required, your general policy statement is rejected."
