Jean Michel Lapin, Director General of the Ministry and Jeff Lefèvre, Director of Cultural Heritage, in charge of the project, gave an update on the various steps taken until now in the implementation of the network resulting from a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 4 August 2015 between the Minister of Culture, Dithny Joan Raton and his colleague from the Ministry of Interior at the time, the Dr. Ariel Henry https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14751-haiti-culture-towards-the-creation-of-a-cultural-development-agent-network.html

According Jean Michel Lapin, the importance of such an initiative lies in the fact that the survival of the cultural identity of a people depends on the attention that this people grants to its cultural heritage. Mr Lefèvre added that the project addressed a triple need to preserve our cultural identity, the promotion of cultural heritage and the organization of the cultural life in the municipalities.

Adding that the first step is a phase called Training-Research that will lead to a period where the ADC and the municipal agents will have to proceed with the implementation of projects that have been identified and selected.
