Monday, Guy Didier Hyppolite was installed as Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries, replacing at the head of this important ministry for socio-economic development of Haiti, the outgoing Minister Stéphanie Villedrouin. Note that before this function, Guy Didier Hyppolite held the position of Vice President of the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH).

Inauguration speech of Minister of Tourism :

"Let me first extend my thanks and say my gratitude to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Jocelerme Privert and the Prime Minister, Mr. Enex Jean-Charles, for this confidence they honor me, by putting me at the head of this important ministry.

An honor indeed, but also and above all a great responsibility !

Indeed, the Ministry of Tourism, in recent years, under the wise leadership of Ms. Stéphanie Villedrouin, managed the almost impossible challenge to back our beloved Haiti on the world tourist map.

This achievement would not have been possible without the commitment some time intrepid of our investors and tourism operators who, like me, have never stopped believing in this dream we are living today.

Mr. Minister of Economy and Finance, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The tourist development in this country where men and elements are struggling to damaging the image is I know an arduous task, a real titanic battle for which I chose and today agree with your support of everyone here to spare no effort.

In this struggle, frankly unequal that the Ministry of Tourism, under my leadership, commits to regain the legitimate part of Haiti in the global tourism market; I am pleased to be able to rely on the wise leadership of His Excellency Jocelerme Privert and of my peers in Government which constitute an inexhaustible well of real competencies, in this industry of transversality incomparable.

I also comforts to the finding of the work already done by the talented team of the Ministry of Tourism and I know that together we will get to continue to promote the beauty of our beloved country, to assist operators and put in place the solid structural foundations essential for sustainable development of this leading economic sector and how promising."
