Friday, Abel Nazaire, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, Mr. Abel Nazaire received in Frères, nearly twenty of youth associations in order to discuss the challenges, projects and prospects.

Within the framework of finding of the deterioration of the situation of the country and of youth associations, despite the many efforts made. The Minister Nazaire considers necessary to guide youth through the Associations "We must accompany the young to make them more engaged, supportive, independent and responsible."

Furthermore, the Minister Nazaire shared some ideas and projects for the sector, including :

• The regulation of of the associative youth sector ;

• The promotion and development of the of associative life in juvenile middle ;

• The building of organizational capacity of the associative structures of the sector.

He also commented on the development of the national youth policy and the draft framework law on youth, to be according to him, indispensable tools to develop the sector.

Moreover, the search for funding and the creation of employment agency for young people have constituted two important points raised by the Minister who pleaded once more, for a youth organized, supervised and able to participate in the development of the country.

Woodly Simon, Director of Youth and Integration at the Ministry, asserts that upon publication of amending budget several projects will be implemented including :

• The 2nd edition of Weekend of youth ;

• The youth fair ;

• The establishment of youth integration fund;

• The organization of the National Assizes of Youth (ANJ) ;

• The implementation of summer programs ;

• The celebration of International Youth Day (JIJ) ;

• The celebration of Caribbean Youth Day.

Representatives of associations, while congratulating the Minister for the initiative of this meeting, called for in the future, a better involvement of the Ministry in the development of youth projects. In addition, they invited the Minister to work on inter alia : the training in the context of mentoring projects of youth, the integration of professional courses in schools, the harmonization between the Ministry of Youth and Associations and the insertion of a voluntary course in schools...

The Minister Nazaire promised to work on the various proposals and requests and has committed himself to include in the amending budget, the project to support youth associations in order to contribute to the strengthening of associative structures of youth of 10 departments and make more effective the interventions in matter of youth.
