Haiti - Politic : Positive discrimination towards women to the BCEN ?

The absence of women elected until now in the last election, pushes Marie Denise Claude the new Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights to try by all means to make elect women candidates still competing for legislative and municipal.

Concerning the 6 qualified women candidates for the second round in the legislative elections, the Minister had recently stated "I would like that these 6 women are elected, I intend to encourage the Government to discriminate positively in favor of women still compete to legislative [...]" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17113-haiti-news-zapping-politics.html

In the municipal elections, 13 women have been subject of complaints that they intend to appeal to the Office of the National Electoral Disputes (BCEN). On this issue, the Minister said last Thursday that she wished that its Ministry provides legal support to these candidates https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17318-haiti-news-zapping-politics.html "We will do everything in our power to help these women to take control of town halls [...] We will put a battery of lawyers at their disposal to help them obtain a favorable decision of BCEN [...]"
