In a note, the Ministry of National Education informs the educational community in particular and the public in general, that in order to consolidate the school databases of the Ministry, the school census of the academic year 2015-2016 will take place from 9 to 31 May 2016 through 10 Regional Directorates of Education (DDE).

All structures of the Ministry are already mobilized for this purpose in order to achieve this important operation necessary to improve the governance of the education sector. National and international partners will accompany the Ministry for the implementation of this action.

The Directorate of Planning and External Cooperation (DPCE) is the entity of the Ministry, responsible for steering this operation.

This census will also allow to :

• Update school mapping ;

• Refresh the directory of educational statistics ;

• Refresh the country's schools directory ;

• Produce a leaflet of school statistics (Haiti, education in figures) ;

• Produce a school data CD ;

• Produce an analysis document on basic education ;

• Generate data for the preparation of the 2016-2017 school year.

The 2015-2016 school census will cover the establishmentsof type : preschool, fundamental, secondary and Écoles Normales d’instituteurs (ENI), of public and private sectors, of urban and rural zone, of all communes of DDE.
