Haiti - Economy : APN in international promotion tour 12/05/2016 11:29:14
Tuesday in Dubai (UAE) as part of an international promotional tour of Haitian maritime sites in general and of the reconstruction project of the International Port of Cap-Haitien in particular, a tripartite mission composed of the Engineer Alix Célestin, Director General of the National Port Authority (APN) and representatives of the Agency American International Development (USAID), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the Group of the World Bank, held two important meetings, the first with representatives of P&O Ports, a division of Dubai Ports World (DP World) and the second with a delegation of Abu Dhabi Terminals around the Renovation Project of the International Port of Cap-Haitien. This tripartite mission continue its tour Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, by going alternately in London and Paris where presentations will be scheduled for including the Bolloré Group (Paris, France), Marsa Morocco, Adani Ports, Bam International and Meridiam. These meetings aimed at stimulating investors to contribute in the development of the Haitian port sector, were an opportunity for the Director General of the APN toidentify all different features and advantages that represents the ambitious Reconstruction Project of International Port of Cap-Haitien, on the north facade of Haiti. Recall that the Cap Haitien Port will be rebuilt with funding from USAID to the tune of $ 65 million and the work will begin as early as next July, with the demolition of hangars and other old buildings, and will last two years and half. Recall that the Director General of the National Port Authority, accompanied by the Coordinator of the Directorate General of the institution, Mr. Valery Adrien, also participated, on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Miami, to a conference of investors always on the initiative of the APN, the USAID and IFC in connection with the presentation of the renovation project of the Port of Cap-Haïtien to the port stakeholders of the e region in view of the concession of the infrastructure of the metropolis of the North department.
