Haiti - Politic : The judicial power does not want to be excluded

In a note, Durin Junior Duret, the President of the National Association of Magistrates Haitians (ANAMAH) takes note of the correspondence of the Superior Council of Judicial Power (CSPJ) of 15 June 2016 addressed to the Parliament and the Prime Minister, noting the end of the term of 120 days of provisional President arising from the Agreement of February 6, 2016.

The President of the ANAMAH, recalls that "in accordance with tradition, the Judicial Power (administered today by the CSPJ) must play a crucial role in resolving the current political crisis as co-custodian of national sovereignty".

Furthermore, it considers "that in this period of political turmoil and social effervescence, it is prudent and recommended to focus on higher interests of the Nation, while appealing to the serenity to out the national boat of umultuous and dangerous waters for our sovereignty."

ANAMAH is favorable "to any participation of representatives of the judiciary, symbol of neutrality, at the highest level (Court of Cassation, Court of the Republic) to the resolution of the crisis, because in these difficult times, the country has to rely on her daughters and most worthy son."
