Haiti - France : Strengthening of the BRI intervention capacities

At the initiative of the internal security service of the Embassy of France, a training devoted to interpellation techniques has benefited to the whole of the Brigade of Research and Intervention (BRI) of the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ).

This qualifying technical training operationally oriented, was held for almost two weeks on the Police Academy site. It was conducted by two trainers of Intervention Group of the National Police (GIPN) Antilles-Guyana based in Guadeloupe.

Among the topics covered included several exercises including static and mobile arrests, walking or motorized with handcuffing, training to the technical of progression and penetration in closed and open conditions, day and night, and several weapons training sessions and live ammunition firing exercises under stress conditions.

Emphasizing on the emotion management and the need to make decisions in emergency situations, this training aimed to build capacity of the BRI, main specialized brigade of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and helped perfect the techniques of intervention of police forces by sharing the means and methods used by the French police in operations or investigations in particularly sensitive areas.

Note that this training was attended by all BRI agents, but also by some agents of the Office for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (BLTS), or a total of 54 experienced agents specialized in the field of intervention.
