Haiti - Diaspora : Election Financing and integration in State affairs
Friday afternoon, at the Hotel Karibe (Petion-ville), after a first meeting at the National Palace the day before, with the de facto President Jocelerme Privert, followed Friday of a meeting with the Provisional Electoral Council https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18244-haiti-elections-the-diaspora-should-like-contribute-to-the-financing-of-elections.html , the members of the delegation of the diaspora have again met the Head of State about the necessary participation of Haitians living abroad in State affairs and the development of the country. The participation in the financing of upcoming elections was for President Privert the focus of discussion.

The integration of the diaspora in the country's political life has been widely discussed during the last meeting that ended with the formation of a Commission "ad hoc" responsible for establishing the modalities of this future and possible participation in the governance of Haiti...

This Commission is composed of 5 members including : 2 Advisers of the Head of state: Daly Valet and Gabriel Verret and 3 ministers : Camille Edouard Jr. (Justice), Pierrot Delienne (Foreign Affairs) and Mme Jessy C. Petit-Frère, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad.

To this meeting have participated of representatives among others of diaspora organizations including : the United Diaspora Fund, the NOAH Haiti, the HRA, the Global Watch, GRAHN-USA, the Haitian Alliance, the Haitian American Veterans Association, the NHAEON, the Federation of the Haitian diaspora in Europe, the Haitian American Grassroots Coalition, etc...
