Haiti - Health : The Cuban medicine at the Haitians service 05/12/2010 11:29:23 He said that the Haitians need doctors, engineers, teachers, builders to help them escape poverty. He noted that Cuba had intensified its cooperation with Haiti, a solidarity that has lasted more than 10 years, and that the Cuban medical teams (more than 1,200 people) are now involved in the fight against cholera. Pedro Núñez Mosquera, also said that the Cuban medical teams are responsible of 38 of the Cholera Treatment Center (CTC) in Haiti and that on November 29, 2010, "27.000 Haitians had been treated in these centers." Adding that 11 new CLC will be added to the Cuban network, bringing the number to 49 for a total capacity of over 2,000 beds. He reminded the other hand, that Cuba, in collaboration with the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA), continued its efforts with the Haitian Government to maintain general medical services to the population. Cuban teams are involved in 24 community hospitals of benchmark, 30 rehabilitation rooms and 12 health centers.
