Haiti - FLASH : Several hundred Haitians at risk of deportation from Canada

After the expiration of a second and final 6-month reprieve granted by the Trudeau government https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16526-haiti-flash-new-additional-time-for-haitians-threatened-of-evictions-in-canada.html to some 1,300 people mostly Haitians arrived in Quebec after the 2010 earthquake and still without status; only 300 Haitians threatened of deportation took advantage of this respite to try to regularize their immigration status, to avoid being deported to Haiti, their country of origin.
Recall that this situation result of a decision of the Canadian Government in December 2014 to lift the suspension of expulsion to Haiti and Zimbabwe, saying the situation in these two countries had evolved. While hundreds of Haitian now facing deportation to Haiti, for not having made an application for regularization of their migratory status in Canada, the Bloc Quebecois would like that all those concerned globally obtain permanent residence for humanitarian reasons, without each case be studied in particular...
