Haiti - Elections : Juan Raúl Ferreira will head OAS Observation Mission
Former Uruguayan senator Juan Raúl Ferreira will be the Chief of the Electoral Observation Mission (EOM) of the Organization of American States (OAS) to be deployed to Haiti for the presidential and legislative elections to be held on October 9 of this year.

Ferreira served as Senator of the Republic of Uruguay between 1985 and 1990, and as ambassador to Argentina between 1995 and 1999. Holding a doctorate in International Economic Relations and Humanitarian Law, he currently serves as Director of the National Institution of Human Rights (INDDHH) in Uruguay. Ferreira has participated in more than ten OAS electoral observation missions.

Let's recall that OAS has deployed 15 electoral observation missions to Haiti since 1990.

The Organization has accompanied the current electoral process since 2014.
