Haiti - NOTICE : Contest open «National Prize Jacques Stephen Alexis of the Novel» 10/09/2016 10:51:45
This prize that intends to perpetuate the memory and work of JSA (native of Gonaives 1922-1961), aims to reward an emerging feather in the field of fictional creation (Creole or French) and also promote the winning work in the need to encourage young writers to revisit the major works of our greatest novelists, including Jacques Stephen Alexis which marked the annals of Haitian literature with his novels : "Compère général soleil" (1955) ; "Les Arbres musiciens" (1957) ; L'Espace d'un cillement (1959), "Romancero aux étoiles" (1960), Collection "L'Imaginaire", Paris, Gallimard. This contest is open to Haitians of both genders living in Haiti or abroad. Prize of 200,000 gourdes and 500 printed copies of the novel. Award ceremony in December 2016, on the occasion of the International Book Fair of Haiti (FILHA) Date for submission of manuscripts : September 9 to October 7, 2016 Languages : Creole or French Manuscript paper, 8 1/2 X 11, 1 1/2 spacing, minimum 120 pages, in duplicate, to file to the following addresses : National Directorate of Book (DNL), Street 3 #0 in Pacot; The CLAC (Reading and Cultural Activity Centre) : Port-Salut, Coteaux, Chantal, Cabaret, Saint Marc, Gonaïves, Verrettes, Marchand Dessalines, St Michel, St Raphaël, Gros Morne, Plaisance, Limonade, Trou du Nord, Grande Rivière du Nord and Camp Coq ; The municipal libraries : Terrier-Rouge, Pignon et Anse-à-veau.
