3rd failure in the Senate

Monday prior the holding of the National Assembly to close the 2nd ordinary session of the legislative year, the Senate tried to sign the law sanctioning money laundering and terrorist financing without being able to achieve a quorum (3rd time this week) required given the opposition of 4 senators, led by Carl Murat Cantave.

Reactions around the seizure of weapons

Following the major weapons seizure in St. Marc last week https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18569-haiti-flash-worrying-seizure-of-weapons-from-the-usa.html Sen. Youri Latortue expressed concern and recommends to the police to conduct an investigation to apprehend all the culprits.

Pierre Espérance the Executive Secretary of the "National Network for Defense of Human Rights" (RNDDH) declared "The situation is extremely serious and worrying. The actors in the criminal justice system must take action to prevent unrest in the country."

Security measures for the next election

NOTICE : Electoral rolls available in all BED and BEC

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) announces that the communal electoral lists are available in all Departmental Electoral Offices (BED) and Communal (BEC). For the elections of October 9, there will be 1,508 voting centers and 13,725 polling stations across the country, while 41,175 members of polling stations will be deployed.

Opening of assizes on the National Cause

This Tuesday morning have opened the Assizes on the National Cause reading, writing and mathematics, to the Quisqueya University. National stakeholders and cooperation partners are present at this event organized by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank.
