Haiti - Elections : Mirlande Manigat also refuses to participate in the recount

After the decision of Michel Martelly to refuse to participate in the verification of the minutes, it is now the turn of the candidate Mirlande Manigat, of no longer want to participate in the verification process. In a statement, signed by her lawyer, she said having noted the proposal of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) for verification of the minutes of the election of 28 November 2010 and to no longer want to participate to this operation.
"On analysis, it appears that this press release [of CEP] indicates neither the date nor the time of a possible invitation for interested, nor the proposed procedure for such an operation. In these circumstances, the candidate regrets not being able to participate with such a demarche" she says, stating that she "remains open to any initiative that may encourage a settlement of the crisis, provided that the solution is impressed of transparency and legality".
