Haiti - Security : The attacks on humanitarian convoys continue

Camille Junior Édouard, Minister of Justice and Public Security, strongly condemns the actions of looters who attacked and hijacked several humanitarian convoys including those of the World Food Programme (WFP), intended to provide assistance to victims of the departments of South, Grand Anse and Nippes devastated by the passage of Matthew.

"Formal instructions were passed to police authorities to take all necessary steps to avoid repetitions of such acts.

While deploring these acts of brigandage, which affect victims of this hurricane, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security invites organizers of aid and relief to contact as soon as possible the General Directorate of the National Police for a better securing of convoys towards these geographical departments."
