FUSION and the Court of Cassation

According Rosemond Pradel, general secretary of Fusion of Haitian Social Democrats (FUSION) "the unilateral initiative of the Court of Cassation has complicated an already unstable political situation. This initiative can not be taken lightly because it emanates from one of the three branches of government."

State of construction of roads Mirebalais-Lascahobas-Belladères

Thursday, October 20, Jacques Evelt Eveillard, the Minister of Public Works, Vincent Degert, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Haiti and Charles Jean-Jacques, the EDF National Authorising Officer have evaluated the progress of the roads construction works connecting Mirebalais and Lascahobas Lascahobas to Belladères.

Recall that these works of a 32-month period, totaling a total of 58 km of road whose cost is estimated at 65 million euros, are carried out by the Dominican company Estrella construction under the supervision of the Italian multinational " AIC Projetti ". This work are funded by Europe from the 10th European Development Fund. Currently, the work is completed to 90%.

Monitoring of post-Matthew actions in the education sector

Friday was held a follow up working meeting of actions post-Matthew in the education sector between the Ministry of Education and partners of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The Director of Cabinet Eliccel Paul, on behalf of Minister Dorsonne provided an update on the actions taken to date for the resumption of school activities and especially the list of schools targeted for intervention of partner. The goal, said the Director of Cabinet is to allow the return of children to school in the best delay in the affected areas.

Nabarro request more money to donors

Dr Nabarro Special Adviser to the United Nations for Sustainable Development said about Haiti "I request more money to the donors, because it is a huge disaster [...] Given the extent of damage caused by Hurricane Matthew, we have many needs. We need health centers to eradicate cholera, drinking water, food and construction materials, among others..."

Convening in elections published in Le Moniteur

In the official journal Le Moniteur, Special Issue No. 16 dated Friday, October 21, 2016, were issued the decrees: deferring the decree of 19 July 2016 calling on people in its elections and the Decree convoking the people in elections Sunday, November 20, 2016.
