Haiti - Humanitarian : The Dominicans are leaving Haiti

Wednesday, as agreed, the Dominican Government has concluded its mission of assistance to the Haitian government, which for two weeks worked in the rehabilitation of roads, bridges, in addition to providing food and other supplies to the Haitian population.

Gonzalo Castillo, the Dominican Minister of Public Works and Communications accompanied by the Dominican ambassador in Haiti, Ruben Silié Wednesday met his Haitian counterpart Jean Elvet Eveillard and the Chief of Staff of Government in Haiti Jean Max Bellerive. During this meeting was coordinated the return to the Dominican Republic of 148 vehicles and a brigade of 200 people who worked in Haiti after the passage of Hurricane Matthew.

For their part, members of the Haitian government said they appreciated the quick assistance, planned and appropriate, from the Dominican government, that theyconsider as one of the most important they have received to date.

Jean Elvet Eveillard, the Minister of Public Works praised the work of the Dominican Republic to Haiti.

For his part Jean Max Bellerive said that President Danilo Medina was the only President who have physically traveled to Haiti to offer the Dominican solidarity to the Haitian people "President Danilo Medina came and asked us what our priorities were and helped us in what we asked, it was a planned aid according to our needs."
