Haiti - Elections : Partial assessment of the PNH 21/11/2016 07:58:49
On Sunday evening, Inspector Garry Desrosiers, Deputy Spokesperson of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) presented to the press a partial assessment of the incidents that occurred during the election day.
"[...] today we had a satisfactory result, unfortunately several incidents were recorded: physical assault (6), stab wound (1), detention of cold steel (1), illegal possession of firearm (7), throwing stones at a voting center (3), sporadic shooting (4), electoral fraud, disturbance of public order in voting centers, detention of several warrants, influence on voters, barricades, attacks against voters, etc... atotal of 43 people were arrested by the police and transferred to justice [...] 4 vehicles were confiscated, 2 rifles and 1 pistol of caliber 9 mm seized...
For now, the PNH remains on the ground because the counting takes place and it is necessary that the police officers accompany members of polling stations and members of the Voting Center [...]"
