After an appeal at the end of November to Presidential Candidates https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19363-haiti-politics-odette-fombrun-launches-an-appeal-to-presidential-candidates.html the former teacher, author and well-known and respected feminist Haitian activist Odette Roy Fombrun (99), crowned "Living National Treasure" in 2009, launches a new message that we invite you to share :

"The country is destroyed, misery is everywhere. It takes billions to rebuild and no country agrees to give credit to Haiti, a non-solvent country. In addition, 70% of Haiti's budget depends on foreign countries.

It is necessary to arrive at a sort of States General of the Nation, to develop a National Rescue Plan, a sort of Marshal Plan for the reconstruction of Haiti.

It is imperative that the Haitians from everywhere and the friendly countries of Haiti undertake to give back their support to our country and that the conditions are fulfilled so that investors return in our country.

Fortunately, the elected President admits that he alone will not be able to solve so many problems and invites all to join him in rebuilding Haiti. He has already accepted the offer made by non-winners, leaders of political parties.

I invite all of you to do likewise so that the elected can put in place these important General States which engage the country in the constructive way that should lead it to occupy its rightful place and that our perpetual disputes and disorders prevent it to occupy."
