Haiti - Commemoration : Message from the Young President of Haiti (GJH) 12/01/2017 09:20:15 "As a young President of Haiti and on behalf of Young Prime Minister Nathanaël Noël and the young ministers of the Youth Government of Haiti, I take this opportunity to share my thoughts with the Haitian community while inviting theHaitian state to better prepare itself to face natural disasters instead of waiting again and again the interventions of NGOs and foreign countries... [...] January 12, should remain an unforgettable day for the Haitian people and by duty to remember everyone, especially young people, should say no to uncontrolled construction, which are largely responsible for this tragedy, but also learn from this fateful date. 7 years after this tragedy, there is every reason to be worried. The progress made in terms of improving the living conditions of the population, particularly the disadvantaged and a real reconstruction, is so insignificant that they are almost invisible. In order to avoid possible disasters, the Haitian authorities are required to take the necessary security measures for a better management of the city through the implementation of a modern land and sea transport system and a policy for construction of houses and road infrastructure. [...] I strongly encourage all the actors who say that Haiti comes before their personal interests to collaborate [...] because it is now that we must decide the protection of our loved ones and our property. Haiti is our country, we must take care of it. To quote Martin Luther King : 'The world suffers a lot. Not because the violence of bad people. But because of the silence of the good people'. Through this thought, I invite every Haitian to get involved and show a willingness to live together with the pride of being Haitian. I invite civil society organizations, the private sector and international institutions to step up their efforts to get Haiti out of this appalling situation... May God bless you and comfort the Haitian people! Amos Cincir, Young President" HL/ HaitiLibre
