The future elections financed by the State

Yves Romain Bastien, Minister of the Economy and Finance announces the tabling in Parliament in the coming days of a bill on local financing of elections. If this bill is ratified by both Houses, all future elections in Haiti will be financed by the Treasury.

The Senate will not be in conflict with the Executive

According to Senator Sorel Jacinthe (Grand'Anse), his parliamentary colleagues are not going to come into conflict with the Executive, but they will work in accordance with the constitutional prescriptions to solve the problems faced by the country.

Arrival of sensitive materials

According to Nicole Siméon, the spokesperson of the Provisional Electoral Council, the CEP should receive on Thursday a first shipment of sensitive materials for the elections of 29 January. A second cargo, concerning the department of the West, will arrive in Haiti the 21 of January.
