Haiti - Politics : With or without the National Assembly, Jovenel Moïse will be installed... 06/02/2017 08:35:27
While will take place tomorrow February 7, the investiture of the elected President Jovenel Moïse, the Deputy of Delmas Garry Bodeau, Quaestor of the Lower House and President of the majority bloc "Parliamentary Alliance for Haiti" (APH) composed of 64 deputies Pro Jovenel Moïse (PHTK and allies) is confident that despite the threats of some Senators, to invalidate the quorum of the National Assembly for the swearing-in of the elected President, believes that this is just a means of pressure to keep certain government positions, but that the quorum will nevertheless be constated. At his recent trip to New York he declared that "[...] nothing will prevent Jovenel Moïse to take the oath," stressing that even if the National Assembly of 7 February could not be held "[...] the Prime Minister as well as the National Police of Haiti will take the necessary steps to install President Jovenel Moïse at the National Palace. Concerning the choice of the new Prime Minister and the names that are already circulating, the Deputy Bodeau affirmed that these were only rumors unfounded and that this choice will be made at the appropriate time, according to the prescriptions of the Constitution, in consultation with Phe presidents of both chambers after the inauguration of the President-elect.
