Haiti - Politics : Commitments of the new Minister of Culture
Limond Toussaint the new Minister of Culture and Communication installed by the new Minister of Tourism Colombe Emilie Jessy Menos Gessie, announced that he will emphasize on arts and cultural education, especially among young people and on the accompaniment and supervision of operators and cultural enterprises for optimal productivity and social protection for them.

In order to enhance the international image of Haiti, he promises a revitalization of the intangible heritage and the preservation of the built heritage.

"The Ministry will encourage public-private partnerships as a model to make the cultural and creative industries the engine of growth," indicated Minister Toussaint, who said he wanted to "make art and culture accessible to all Haitians."

In the field of Communication, Minister Toussaint pledges to work in "favor of openness and sharing of information for better visibility of governmental actions [...] it is essential that there are permanent dialogue bridges with the media, the public and the public authorities in order to promote the culture of consensus within the public space with a view to strengthening democracy in Haiti."

"The Ministry of Culture and Communication will work to ensure that the new information and communication technologies play an important role in the training of public opinion and become democratic bodies that bring the political class closer to the citizens," stressed Limond Toussaint, who set himself the ambition of "[...] putting the Ministry t the service of Peace, national unity in an uplift of modernity in order to enhance the image of Haiti."
