Haiti - Politics : Moïse opens the International Summit «Haiti Tech Summit»
uesday, at the Royal Decameron Hotel, President Jovenel Moïse accompanied his wife Martine proceeded to the official opening of the 2-day summit on technology "Haiti Tech Summit" held until June 7 and attended by nearly 500 participants, 100 speakers, including the most popular Tech startups in the world like : Uber, AirBnB, Google etc...

Front a panel of Haitian and foreign guests, the Head of State, convinced that technology can help Haiti's development, decalred "My administration wants to get the country out of the vicious circle of the informal and the small resourcefulness for its survival. The objectives are clear. We are fighting for the modernization of the economy by giving priority to the development of 4 sectors, strategic pillars : agriculture, energy, construction: buildings and public works, and services in particular tourism," stressing the need for Haiti to become an example of transformation of the economy through digital. He believes that technology can not be the prerogative of a few but must be within the reach of all, without exclusion, by well-targeted investments.

The Head of State also announced the continuation of an initiative of the previous government, to launch the new incubator center for technological innovation https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-16527-icihaiti-politic-towards-the-establishment-of-the-technological-innovation-incubator-centre.html . Stating that this incubator will have a rapid laboratory prototype. Its mandate will be to foster an environment conducive to the creation of start-ups, which will showcase technology for commercial purposes.

After the opening of the Summit, Moïse met with the organizers around various programs related to the technology and the sustainable development of Haiti.
