Haiti - Politics : Visit of Moïse to Petit-Goâve

Thursday in preparation for the arrival of the Caravan of Change, President Moïse, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, Fritz Caillot, went in the commune of Petit-Goâve, where he was greeted warmly by the Deputy Germain and the members of the Municipal Council.

On foot for several kilometers under a heavy sun, the Head of State visited, several vulnerable localities of Petit-Goâve as well as various places on the River La Digue, the river of Provence, the river of Barettes and the river of Vialet that suffered extensive damage as a result of Hurricane Matthew, where he was able to see the extent of damage caused by rainwater and environmental degradation.

Before returning by helicopter, President Jovenel Moïse promised that he would send the Minister of Agriculture and a team of technicians to Petit-Goâve next week to assess the damage so that the work repair of the La Digue Bridge and irrigation dams of more than 1,000 hectares of land in Barettes could begin in one month, adding "I hope that in early July, the rehabilitation of the dams will allow the canals to water the plants. Beacuse where there is water, there is life."
