Haiti - Politics : 6 new federations subsidized by the State
After granting a grant to 17 Federations and Sports Associations last April, Régine Lamur, the Minister of Youth and Sports on Thursday handed over checks to 6 new Presidents of Federations.

The presidents of beneficiaries Federations : Handball, Basketball, Baseball, softball, Tchoukball, Scrabble and Chess received their checks and signed the protocol committing them to produce management reports for the amount allocated to the organization of activities of their respective Federations "the rules of good governance, effective management of the meager financial resources of the State oblige to condition the subsidies," recalled the Minister Lamur.

"The Ministry of Youth is committed to making sports support a priority that will be reflected in the next fiscal year," said Minister Lamur, who recognizes that the sport sector faces countless challenges. It also ensures that the combination of efforts can lead to extraordinary achievements because the young Haitian is full of talent for sport.

Régine Lamur assured that her Ministry will do everything possible to obtain from the Haitian Parliament the vote of the law on sport that will definitely devote the government's unfailing commitment to sport. She also recalled her decision to work on the draft law on the creation of a sports support fund already initiated by the deputy Fritz Chéry. She expressed her determination to work for the benefit of the sector and promised to launch a mobilization in the perspective of Tokyo 2020 and Qatar 2022.
