Haiti - Duvalier :

A judge and the Prosecutor General of Haiti, have questioned Jean-Claude Duvalier for about two hours Tuesday. Following this interrogation, the Prosecutor General Aristides Augustus has confirmed to Reuters that a charge had been filed against former President Jean-Claude Duvalier and he was formally charged Tuesday by the Justice of Haiti for corruption, theft and embezzlement during his years in power from 1971 to 1986).

"His fate is now in the hands of the investigating judge. We have brought charges against him". It is now to the judge to decide to continue or not the case at the judicial level and possibly inculpate the former president.

Jean-Claude Duvalier left the prosecutor's office to return to his hotel, but must remain in the country at the disposition of judicial authorities according to investigating judge Carves Jean. "He doesn't have the right to go anywhere"
