Haiti - RD : About 150 Haitians arrested every day in Pedernales...

According to the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (CESFRONT) and the Dominican Migration Service in recent days, more than 1,000 Haitians (628 men, 327 women and 84 children) in irregular migratory situations were repatriated to Haiti via the Pedernales border crossing in the south-west of the Dominican Republic.
During the control operations were seized 40 false identity cards on Haitians and 30 motorcycles used to transport illegal migrants.
Military operations are carried out on order of Lieutenant-General Rubén Paulino Sem, the Minister of Defense and under the command of Major General Braulio Alcantara Lopez, General Director of the Cesfront and the General Rafael Diaz Gomez, Commander of the Fifth Brigade stationed in Barahona.
Cesfront reports that migratory control operations are continuing and that on average 150 people and illegal Haitian workers are arrested every day in the urban area of the city of Pedernales and other communities in the region.
