Monday, as part of the "Mondays of the Press", Colonel Louis Marcelin Daniel, Director General of the Ministry of Defense, accompanied by the Director of the Military Engineering Corps, Captain Louicin Dieudonné, responsible for recruitment, presented the arrangements made in the remobilization process of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FADH).

Captain Louicin Dieudonné recalled that several phases are planned in the process of recruitment of the first class of soldiers, specifying that 2,350 young people of which 350 girls have enrolled and that 1,850 boys and 305 girls have already undergone the medical test whose the results will be available on Friday 4 August.

August 7 is the date set for the intellectual tests "The psychological, physical exams are the other steps that the postulants will have to pass after the intellectual trial" added the person in charge of the recruitment.

As for former demobilized soldiers, Colonel Daniel pointed out that they were not rejected in the reintegration process which will start next month according to established criteria. He said that the first-class youths who will be recruited will be accompanied and trained by former soldiers.

He recalled that "the mission of the Haitian Armed Forces of National Defense is maintained, while taking into account the evolution of society according to the road map submitted by the Prime Minister" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20508-haiti-flash-roadmap-for-the-establishment-of-the-haitian-army.html mentioning that the army will be present on the border to help combat human trafficking, drugs and smuggling.

Concerning the new general regulations of the new army, he assures that they are ready, specifying that they are inspired by some principles of the old army and especially the White Paper elaborated at the national symposium on the remobilization of the Army in 2014 [ https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/Livre_Blanc.pdf ]. Adding "These new regulations will be submitted to the Council of Ministers by the Minister of Defense and then transmitted to Parliament".

Regarding the General Staff he wanted to be clear "It is not for the Ministry of Defense to choose the members of Staff. The choice of the Commander-in-Chief and the General Staff will be done according to the laws of the Republic."
