Haiti - Health : Inauguration of the Maternity SONUB of Léogâne

Tuesday, First Lady Martine Moïse, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Marie Gréta Roy Clément, participated in the inauguration of Léogâne's Maternity of Obstetric and Neonatal Basic Emergency Care (SONUB).

This maternity center has 2 delivery tables, 5 pre-delivery beds, 9 post-delivery beds, 9 cradles, 2 prenatal consultation rooms and family planning.

"The SONUB maternity service must take care of pregnant women and of childbearing age. Through this center we want to work to achieve the Millennium Development Goals," said Marie Gréta Roy Clément, Minister of Public Health.

For her part, Martine Moïse declared "The Head of State welcomes the fact that women in Léogâne will receive quality health care [...] We are ready to accompany you to fight maternal neonatal mortality; my Horse of battle is early childhood."

During the inaugural ceremony, the First Lady announced the start of the program "konte m, mwen konte".
