Haiti - Education : Subsidy of textbooks, everything finally returns to normal
On Saturday, September 9, Peter Deschamps, CEO of Maison Deschamps, said that he had received no money from the government concerning a first tranche of subsidy until September 9, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22091-haiti-education-subsidized-school-books-not-available-who-is-right.html contradicting the statements made the day before by Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of National Education who said that the publishers had already received the funds of the first tranche of subsidy, without knowing in this case which was true...

On Thursday, September 14, Minister Cadet gave an update on the subsidy of textbooks explaining that the Maison Henri Deschamps was the only edition where books were not yet available. He acknowledged and confirmed that the first subsidy check (more than 300 million Gourdes) was handed out only Wednesday, September 13 in the morning to the Maison Deschamps...

"The editor Henri Deschamps gave me the guarantee Thursday that since yesterday morning [Wednesday] textbooks were beginning to be classified in all stores and schools. He also told me that arrangements had been made to bring them into the provinces as well. What our inspectors confirm."
