For that first day the opposition managed to mobilize several thousand demonstrators in Port-au-Prince, while at the same time other demonstrations were taking place in the provinces, notably at Hinche in the Central plateau and Léogâne.

After crossing several popular neighborhoods, the demonstrators took the road from Delmas to Pétion-Ville before descending by Bourdon and Lalue towards the Champ de mars with cries of "A ba Jovnel.. bare Volè... Deyò deyò net..."

Anti-budget activists in New York, where the Head of State is currently attending the 72nd Ordinary Session of the United Nations General Assembly, say they will make their voices heard on Thursday, while Moïse has to intervene at the United Nations forum.

In Hinche, Central Plateau, a militant was reportedly shot dead near the regional office of the Ministry of Education supposedly by a security guard in confused circumstances. This incident has not yet been confirmed by the PNH. To take revenge the protesters tried to set fire to the home of the alleged security officer responsible for the death. The deputy of Mirelabais Abel Descolines deplored the death of the young man and invited the authorities to make an investigation to shed all light on this crime and to punish its author...

Senator Nénel Cassy (Lavalas) promises that "totalitarian excesses of Jovenel Moïse" will be countered by the opposition and that the struggle will continue until the withdrawal of the draft budget law 2017-2018. Jean Myrtho Julien a member of the Executive Committee of Fanmi Lavalas continues to demand a popular uprising against the government of Jovenel Moïse.
