Haiti - FLASH : Postponement of the transport strike

The two days of strike in the transport against the publication of the finance law 2017-2018 announced by the unions for Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 September https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22182-haiti-flash-transport-two-new-strike-days-announced.html are canceled and postponed to Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 October.

It is Mehu Changeux, the President of the Association of owners and drivers of Haiti (APCH) initiator of the strike on September 18 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22156-haiti-flash-transport-strike-widely-followed.html which announced the decision of the trade unions to lift the call to strike.

The reason given would be linked to the floods caused by the passage of Maria which affected the populations of several localities of the North, the North-East and the Artibonite which would not make suitable mobilization...

Let's hope that this postponement of the strike, which has caused disappointment in many trade union and political organizations and political leaders who have confirmed their support, respect this decision and do not come to create new disorders Monday and disrupt the activities of citizens...
