Haiti - Canada : $20 million for maternal health 27/10/2017 09:45:31
Canada's new Accredited Ambassador to Haiti André Frenette signed this week the protocol agreement between Global Affairs Canada, and Haiti's Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP)and of Planning and External Cooperation (MCPE) officialising the "Project for Integrated Management of Maternal and Child Health in Artibonite" (PRISMA II).
This project will consolidate the gains made by the first phase of the programme between 2011-2016 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15600-haiti-health-remarkable-progress-in-maternal-and-child-health.html by reinforcing activities that increase utilization and provision of health services adapted to the needs of mothers, new-borns and children. We estimate that over 200,000 women and children will benefit from services offered in the PRISMA-supported health facilities.
This initiative is made possible by the financial support of close to 20 million dollars by the Government of Canada https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20099-haiti-health-more-than-one-billion-gourdes-to-improve-the-health-of-women-and-children.html
