Haiti - Environment : Haiti participates in the COP23 in Bonn, Germany 08/11/2017 07:44:22 The COP23 wants to be the Conference of the Islands with as ambition to aim further, faster and all together. Loss and damage related to climate change are among the top priorities for developing countries, including the small island states, including Haiti. COP23, launched on the basis of urgency, solidarity and equity, will have to make significant progress in developing modalities, procedures and guidelines for the implementation of the Paris Agreement (PA). Haiti participates in COP23 with an intersectoral delegation composed of a dozen technicians and political decision-makers. It defends at this Conference, alongside other Developing Countries and Island States :
It should be recalled that the Paris Agreement is an international climate treaty adopted at the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP21) held in Paris in December 2015. This treaty has a universal character and includes significant advances in the fight againstclimate changes.
