Haiti - Culture : Opening of the 5th Edition «Ghetto Biennale 2017»

As of Monday, December 11, 2017 and for 7 days, the 5th Edition of the "Ghetto Biennale 2017" Artistic Festival is taking place in two informal neighborhoods in the metropolitan area : Lakou Cheri and Ghetto Leanne.

In addition to fifty artists from Haiti, more than 60 artists from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Martinique, Poland, Puerto Rico, Spain, Switzerland, Trinadad & Tobago, United Kingdom, United States, are expected at this Festival whose exhibition will be held from December 15 to 17.

Urban life will be presented at "Ghetto Biennale 2017" ", through lectures, workshops and screenings. Port-au-Prince will serve as a prism, through which visitors will discover, history, politics, its religious heritage, magic and its myths, its architectural diversity, art and literature and reflect on the future of extraordinary metropolis with a long tradition of production, explained event organizers Cat Barich, André Eugène, Leah Gordon, Evel Romain and Liz Woodroff
