After a moment of recollection, in the presence among others of the President of the Senate, Joseph Lambert and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Gary Bodeau, the Head of State proceeded to the deposit of a wreath at the foot of the monument erected to St Christophe, in tribute to the hundreds of thousands of people who lost their lives on January 12, 2010, when a magnitude 7 earthquake on the Richter scale sowed grief and destruction in Haiti at 16:53 precisely... President Jovenel Moïse who believes it is a duty to remember our brothers and sisters who left, prematurely, underlines the imperative obligation for the Haitian people not to repeat the mistakes of the past, especially in terms of the construction of our infrastructure, one of the leading causes of death on January 12, 2010.
