According to the Lieutenant General, Máximo William Muñoz Delgado, Director General of Migration (DGM), 369 falsified cards and 30 copies of receipts of the National Plan Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), as well as 7 Haitian passports and 2 student cards, were seized on Haitians during the recent migration control operations carried out in Dajabón and Elías Piña.

He recalls that in accordance with the provisions of Law 285-04 on migration, the holder of the falsified card is expelled for his irregular migration situation and for identity theft. Regarding the true owner of the card, it is automatically excluded from the PNRE and deported IF the existence of a prior complaint of theft of this document before the seizure is not demonstrated.

An investigation with other Dominican state security agencies is still ongoing to identify those responsible for falsifying these documents for later submission to the courts.

Recall that the hundreds of thousands of our compatriots in an irregular migratory situation on the Dominican territory and who risk expulsion at any time, make the fine game of networks of counterfeiters (Dominicans and Haitians) who enrich themselves by selling fake documents, which prove very useless during biometric verification.
