![]() Haiti - Justice : Two candidates claim an investigation on Edmond Mulet 15/02/2011 11:57:48
In their request, they underline in particular: the pressures of Mr. Edmond Mulet to compel the Government and the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to parachute a candidate in the second round - his statements on the electoral process to fix the date of the poll - the one on the final results of the second round instead of the a spokesman or a member of the CEP, as well as those held in the Nouvelliste newspaper published on February 8 to demand the maintenance of a statement of the CEP regarding the alleged final results achieved in violation of Articles 174- 2, 175, 177, 191 of the electoral Law and Article 8 of the General Regulations of the CEP, and despite the fact that the Haitian justice is called upon to rule on these elections after a regular lashing. Both candidates believe that the conduct, actions and statements of the UN official, constitute both a violation of Article 41-1 and of the paragraph 4-5 of the Vienna Convention of April 18, 1961, of the Agreement of the 9 July 2004 and of the political rights of the applicants, the presidential candidates to the presidential and legislative elections of 28 November 2010. Recalling to the Secretary-General that the presence of his Special Representative may obstruct the investigation, they requires that the diplomat mis en cause, either he withdraws voluntarily or either he is replaced automatically in the interest of the protection of the legal instruments that he has violated.
