Launched in December 2017, the expansion of Cap Haitien International Airport (Hugo Chavez International Airport) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8410-haiti-politic-the-name-hugo-chavez-international-airport-divides.html consisting in the construction of a new arrival hall, a 300 people capacity are well advanced and should be completed on April 6 according John Joseph Larosilière, General Coordinator of the provincial airports.

This new arrival hall will replace the previous one which will be transformed into a departure room, said Pierre Edouane the Airport Coordinator. It should be remembered that Cap Haitien Airport receives about 10 national and international flights daily. It includes two lounges for VIPs, two departure rooms and an arrival hall. With the expansion, international and regional flights will be increased significantly, said Pierre Edouane.

The National Airport Authority (AAN) is working tirelessly to improve the image of the sector, witnessed by passengers in Cap-Haitien who see significant changes citing cleanliness, air conditioning and safety among other things.

Edouane indicates that everything has been done for the inauguration of this new building with an area of 750 m2 built by the Haitian firm "Construction Universal S.A."
