Thursday, March 29, while high school students are deprived of class since February 21, Pierrevilus Jean Elius, the Director of Lycée Faustin Soulouque of Petit-Goâve, met with teachers of the institution (budgeted and strikers), 70 teachers answered present.

It was for the Director Elius, to inform the teachers of the measures taken by the Ministry of National Education namely the attendance sheet and the commitment form, both documents to be signed by the teachers and sent to the Departmental Department of Education (DDE) of the West

Striking professors do not oppose the measures that the Ministry wants to put in place however, they refused to sign the time sheet and rejected the commitment form explaining that they will agree to comply only with the condition that the Ministry first meet their demands (payment of salary arrears and letter of appointment).

It is unanimous that all the teachers, budgeted and strikers, rejected the proposal of resumption of classes after the feast of Easter formulated by the Director Pierrevilus Jean Elius, affirming with one voice that it was necessary first that the Ministry resolves definitively the problems of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque.

Despite the refusal of the faculty, Director Elius, calls for the collaboration of parents and students. He asks the budgeted teachers to come and teach in the classroom after Easter to save the school year. He hopes that his appeal will be taken into consideration by the teachers to whom the State pays a monthly salary...
