Haiti - Economy : Blockchain technology serving agribusiness 13/04/2018 09:50:37
According to Governor Dubois, agribusiness is an important sector for economic growth as it represents 20% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employs about half of the population and contributes, among other things, to the drop in the share of imported products. According to him the Blockchain would favor; the establishment of the cadastre, necessary for agricultural investments and would ensure the traceability of the products. The innovative applications of this technology will thus feed the ecosystem created by the implementation of BRH's 3 main lines of action. Note that among the many possible applications, the Blockchain technology in agriculture can solve many problems : secure management of collection, organization and distribution of information to producers or consumers, transactions, connections between different agricultural domains, etc... Technically, it works like a distributed database, where user-generated information and internal links to the database are checked and grouped at regular time intervals into blocks, forming a chain of secure blocks by encryption.
