EMERGENCY CALL : Blood donation O negative
The Haitian Red Cross (CRH) informs the general public that the National Center for Blood Transfusion (CNTS) is in high demand for O-negative blood group (O-). So far CRH has not been able to respond to these requests. The CNTS does not have this blood group available and is launching an emergency national blood donation appeal for the O-negative group in particular and all donors in general to donate blood at blood transfusion stations in their cities and at the National Blood Transfusion Center located at the Digicel building in Turgeau every day.

The PM risks the interpellation
A few hours after the announcement of the appointment of five new Ministers, 16 deputies (Joseph Manès Louis, Jean-Robert, Bertrand Sinal, Roger Milieu, Printemps Bélizaire, Alcide Audrey, Jean Marcel Lumérant, Enel Appolon, Déus Deroneth, Renald Exantus, Abel Descollines, Franck Lauture, Bien-Aimé A. Rodon, Gabriel Lionel, Charles Rodney, Julien P. Féquière) demanded from Prime Minister Lafontant in a letter, that he return to the Lower House, within 24 hours, all documents proving that the five new ministers comply with the provisions of Articles 52.1 and 172.1 of the Constitution. On Tuesday, the agricultural engineer, Jobert C. Angrand was installed at the head of the Ministry of Agriculture to replace Carmel André Béliard. Lymphatic Filariasis : massive campaign of drugs
On Tuesday, Alyssa Leggoe, Director of Health at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti), joined the Director General of the Ministry of Public Health and other government colleagues to announce the launch of a mass drug administration campaign in 5 communes of Port-au-Prince to prevent lymphatic filariasis a parasitic disease commonly called elephantiasis or "big foot" that anyone can catch with a simple mosquito bite and that can lead to permanent disability and disfigurement. Since 2008, USAID has helped stop the spread of the disease in 117 of Haiti's 144 communities through annual campaigns like this one.
