![]() Haiti - Diaspora : A Haitian becomes the new «Voice» of Quebec 07/05/2018 09:07:29
Yama is the sixth winner of "The Voice". She succeeds Valérie Carpentier, Yoan Garneau, Kevin Bazinet, Stéphanie St-Jean and Ludovick Bourgeois. In addition to being the new "Voice" of Quebec, Yama wins a record deal and a $50,000 check. "Thank you very much to each one of you, it's like an adoption," said Yama Laurent excitedly a few minutes after her victory. "It's just amazing the night I just lived. The former candidates came back so we could all sing together, but I do not want to cry tonight. My mother told me that I was old enough now, I have to assume. This victory was unexpected for me, but I think I'm up to it." For his coach Garou, Yama was for him a huge artistic discovery "I'm upset forever, I met someone exceptional" Songs performed by Yama Laurent during the competition : Duel: "Let It Be" duo with Kelly Bado; Quarterfinal: "They love each other" Daniel Lavoie; Semifinal: "Change Is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke; Final: "A little of us", a song written by Garou, which talks about what will happen after "The Voice".
