Haiti - Politic : End of consultations on the 10-year Education Plan 26/08/2018 10:09:37 On Thursday, 23 (in the Center) and Friday, 24 August (in the South), the Ministry organized a workshop for the benefit of the main education stakeholders to present this important strategic document and to gather their comments and suggestions. Thursday, Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry who chaired the work in the department of the Center, underlined the main objective of these exchanges, which aim at mobilizing the departmental actors to determine the orientations to give to the education and training over the next 10 years (2018-2028), as well as PDEF actions and steering strategies, to ensure that they achieve the objectives. According to Jeune, this strategic document could not be finalized without the contribution of departmental actors. Friday in the South, at the last Departmental Consultations Workshop, Jackson Pléteau, proceeded to the opening in the presence of Delima Pierre, Director General of the National Office of Partnership in Education (ONAPE), Bayard Lapommeray Director of the Unit of Studies and Programming (UEP) and deputy departmental directors of the South. With this workshop, the Ministry of National Education has completed its consultation tour in the 10 departments of the country. Recall that the PDEF is a crucial document for the reform of the sector which is composed of articulated reflections of pre-school education to higher education which must meet the challenges and the educational needs of the different segments of the population and provide among others the country the skilled human resources it needs to grow. According to Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the resigning Minister of National Education the PDEF is an important tool for the advancement of the sector and the improvement of the quality of education, which remains a challenge affirming "We can reach our goal with a lot of efforts.
