Haiti - Security : PoliFront in training at the Mexican-American border

As part of the implementation of the project to support the deployment of the Special Border Police Unit in Haiti (PoliFront) funded by the Embassy of Canada and the United States Embassy in Haiti, the UN Agency for Migration (IOM) organized a capacity-building seminar (Sept. 22-29) for 14 officers of PoliFront, which will take place at the border between the United States and Mexico specifically in San Diego, California.

The purpose of this seminar is to contribute to improve the efficiency of intervention of the Haitian special unit. During their stay, the 14 agents of PoliFront will have a specific knowledge on the extradition and management system, of leaderships, on the technologies employed and the logistics aspects of joint border management set up by the two countries.

The experience and learnings will be relayed to other PoliFront agents in Haiti during a Training of Trainer event that IOM will organize in the days following their return to Haiti.
