Haiti - Security : Michel-Ange Gédéon congratulates the police officers
Thursday at the Information and Operations Center of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the day after the day of national demonstrations and the violence that accompanied them https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25857-haiti-flash-partial-balance-of-the-demonstrations-2-dead-11-wounded-by-bullets.html , Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the PNH, congratulated the police officers involved in the management of this difficult day, for their pragmatism, their professionalism and their understanding of the situation.

Gédéon pointed out "Everything had to be done in order to prevent the worst. You have avoided violently responding to provocations by respecting the instructions, especially the one concerning respect for human rights. You have also protected the highest authorities of the country as members of a republican force with well-defined sovereign functions.

The Constitution required the protection of life and property, but not at the price of blood. Keeping the balance between these realities was a real challenge.

It is precisely the size of this challenge, the size of the work to be done, that makes it possible for me, as Commander-in-Chief of the PNH, to send my warmest congratulations to the women and men of the institution, all units combined, which remained firm face to the duty."
