Haiti - Elections : Communication on the trends, a media
We deplore that the two candidates (via their campaign team) are conducting a campaign of communication on their respective eventual victories. Whether, the candidate Michel Martelly (Monday) or the candidate Mirlande Manigat (Wednesday) whose members of the campaign team [the Senators Evallière Beauplan and Youri Latortue] gives "the candidate winning" in 4 departments. An announcement, even more regrettable that Mirlande Manigat in a statement released Monday said "...The press and the internet are infested with rumors. It knowingly pollute the working environment of the CEP. It is unfortunate that we want to reduce the expression of a national vote to some polling stations of the capital. By ethics and respect for the people and the democracy...

It is good to clarify that the vote trends, are representative only : if the sources from which they are extracted, are official (validated by the Votes Tabulation Center - CTV), if they are correlated with the number of polling stations concerned, the number of voters and the percentage that these votes or percentages represent on the total electorate at the national or departmental level.

Position of HaitiLibre :
Given the information of the second round, are extracted from the minutes displayed (which can be validated or invalidated by the CTV), that the number of polling stations tabulated by department and the turnout of voters is not made available by the CTV, we consider, these publications as a political propaganda rather than real information.

Like our colleagues of the press, HaitiLibre is in possession of many partial results that we refrain to publish, not because of a "supposed prohibition" of the CEP but by respect for our readers. HaitiLibre do not wish to enter in the games of the candidates and maintain a media Buzz.

Finally, it is necessary to recall that the trends published in many countries, sometimes a few minutes after the closure of the vote, are established from data supplied by the tabulation center, progressively at the counting, which is unfortunately not the case in Haiti, thus opening the door to all speculations.
